Scanner runs Scanner. This page says what the site collects and what happens to it.
What the site collects
- Server logs. Like most websites, the hosting provider records the address your connection comes from, the pages and audio files you request, the time, and your browser's description of itself. Logs are kept for a limited time for security and to keep the site running, then deleted.
- Usage counts. The site keeps its own simple statistics: how many people visit, which pages, talkgroups and searches are popular, and how long people stay. Each visitor is counted under a code made from the connection address, the browser description and a value that changes every day, so the code can't be traced back to you or followed from one day to the next. No outside analytics service sees any of it.
- Nothing else. There are no accounts, no sign-in, no tracking cookies and no advertising. The player remembers settings like auto-play only in your own browser.
Radio audio and transmissions
The recordings and transcripts on this site are radio transmissions received over the air on frequencies used by public agencies. They can contain names, addresses, licence plates and other personal details spoken on the radio. Transcripts are generated automatically and may be inaccurate.
If a recording or transcript contains information about you that should not be published, write to the site operator with a link to the call. Reasonable requests are honoured and the recording is removed.
Sharing
Data from this site is not sold or shared with third parties, apart from the hosting provider that serves it and any party we are legally required to give it to.
